WHO WE ARE
THE CHRISTIAN
CHURCH -
DISCIPLES OF CHRIST
A religious movement founded on American Soil in the nineteenth century, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) grew rapidly and today congregations number nearly 4000 across the U.S.
We affirm Jesus as the Christ and
accept all people as God's children. We celebrate open communion
weekly; practice baptism by immersion; believe in a ministry of all
believers; and hold to no specific doctrine except the essential
Christian faith that Jesus is Lord and Savior.
We at Niles First Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ)celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ by witnessing, loving,
growing, and serving from our doorsteps "to the ends of the earth".
(Acts 1:8) Our vision is that everyone is in ministry,
discovering and nurturing their God-given gifts, working together for
the Glory of God, so that we are sharing the Good News of the Gospel
with all God's people. To that end, we will strive to: Provide Uplifting Worship Experiences Offer Opportunities for Service Accentuate the Importance of Prayer Develop Fellowship Opportunities Strive to Include a Variety of Ministries for Children, Youth,
and AdultsMISSION STATEMENT
